Applications for Ph.D in Faculty of Law

Delhi University, invites applications for Ph.D in Faculty of Law which is a 2 years full-time course. Research proposals are invited from the candidates who have secured 55% marks in LL.M or 60% in LL.B degree course. The proposal must contain detailed synopsis (10 copies) which should be prepared in consultation with some faculty member.

Last Date for receipt of research proposal is up to 6th February, 2014. All the research proposals received by the prescribed date shall be considered by the Department of Research Committee in Law.

The applicant would be required to appear for interview/ Viva Voice before Department of Research Committee in the office of the Dean, Faculty of Law, the dates for the interview will be intimated later on the Notice Board of the faculty as well as on the official website of the Delhi University.

It is further notified that the applicant may be required to appear for the written test if the Department Research Committee so decides. It may be noted that the admission to the Ph.D programme shall be strictly in accordance with the Ordinance VI-B and the eligibility conditions contained there in. Candidates are advised to consult the Ordinance VI-B for detailed eligibility conditions available on the University's website.

The candidate who will be selected for Ph.D programme in Faculty of Law may be paid UGC Non-Net fellowship as per the University rules. The details of such available for non-net fellowship is consider are :

  • UR-1
  • OBC-3
  • SC-1
  • ST-1

In addition to the above seats non-net fellowship, all JRF, PH and teacher candidates may be registered on the basis of their Research Proposal/ Performance.
