2nd January, last date to register for CMAT exam

CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) will be the gateway for MBA and MCA admissions, Gujarat State Education Department has announced this rule. In MBA (Masters of Business Administration) and MCA (Masters of Computers Applications) courses there are 20,000 in the state. Now, admissions for these seats will be given through CMAT entrance exam which is conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

CMAT examination will be conducted on 20th February. However, the registrations for the examination was started on 11th November and the last date to apply is 2nd January. AICTE conducts this examination twice a year in order to facilitate institutions to select students for admission in their management programme approved by AICTE. AICTE also issued a notification about the schedule for the second CMAT for the academic session 2014-15.

According to the notification, those who have already appeared in the CMAT first test may also appear for the second test and the better of the two scores will be taken for admission.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduates in any discipline or Final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT.

NOTE: The eligibility criteria for admission to Management programs (Diploma and Post Graduation) is as mentioned below:

1 Management (PGDM, MBA and similar) recognised Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.

2 Management (PGCM) Recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration.

3 Management (Executive PGDM)

Any recognised Bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration and a minimum of 5 years relevant managerial / supervisory experience. Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.
