Admissions to IIT and NIT postponed

Mumbai: The joint seat allocation process for admissions to IITs and NITs has been postponed by a day.

The delay caused due to deferment in declaration of JEE (main) ranks for paper-I and paper II.

The CBSE didn't release the JEE (Main) ranks till Monday evening. This would be the second time the admission schedule has been postponed.

 Admissions to IIT and NIT postponed

The admission process was likely to start on Monday, is further delayed since the fresh schedule was put up on Monday evening on the JEE official website.

According the new schedule the process will start from June 30. During the process students will get five days to fill their options online.

About 13 lakh students were expected to be part of the process for admissions to 34,000 seats in 85 institutes.

According to TOI "The joint allocation admission process is the first initiative by IITs . IITs have planned to have a joint admission process along with NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutes."
