New Delhi, November 2, 2016: University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada is now inviting application for all its undergraduate programs for Summer and Winter session 2017.
The admission process for under graduate courses has already begun and students can apply by visiting on the website http://you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc. Apart from the under graduate courses, the students can also simultaneously apply for the scholarship worth 15 million CAD scholarship that UBC offers first time entrants to their university.
Available data suggests that Indian students are increasingly choosing Canada as their preferred destination and UBC has seen a corresponding increase in numbers as well. UBC has seen applications from Indian students rise by over 80% in the last five years.
In the current Canadian government's plan that outlines public policy objectives until 2022, India was pinpointed as a specific target source of international students. The Indian ethnic group already forms the fourth largest from almost 12,000 international students at UBC.
At UBC, students from India opt for Engineering, Business Studies and Liberal Arts in large numbers. Among the new age programs, UBC's Faculty of Land and Food System, Faculty of Forestry and Faculty of Kinesiology are also seeing a lot of traction considering their potential and the scope they offer in today's time.
Availability of attractive scholarship program is another big reason for UBC being a big draw with Indian students. Almost 10% of all scholarships offered last year at UBC were made to Indian students- a total value of CAD $ 1.5 million.
Students can apply for any of the undergraduate courses for 2017 through the website and the last date for submission of the application for summer and winter session is January 15, 2017.
