800 VTU Engineering students admissions cancelled by DTE Karnataka

Around 800 VTU Engineering students admissions has been cancelled by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Karnataka.

Around 1,079 Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) students have not received admit cards for their first semester Engineering examinations.

Later state government moved to Supreme Court to solve issue.

But now, these students have not attended the practical examinations without admit card for the examinations.

These students were admitted to the engineering courses after 15 August 2013.

VTU Vice-Chancellor H. Maheshappa said the varsity was out of the loop as the discussion on admission approval was being done at the ‘governmental level.'

"But we are ready to conduct the practical exams for these students after the theory exams (December 4 to 20)," he added.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA),Bangalore had conducted the seat allotment process of vacancy round to these students, till 12 August 2013.

According to the Supreme Court, CET admission process have to be ended before 15 August 2013.
