8.26 lakh students to write Karnataka SSLC exam

The Karnataka State Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC), board annual examinations for the academic year 2013-14 will begin from 28th March 2014.

Around 8.26 lakh students are expected to write their SSLC examination. Of the 3,016 centres across Karnataka, 163 centres has been identified as sensitive and 51 examination centres has been identified as hypersensitive centres.

The Department of Public Instruction has tightened measures to avoid any possible paper leaks and malpractices.

Around 8.76 lakh students are writing this year's SSLC examinations, out of which 7.63 lakh are fresh candidates, 21,670 are private students and 41,269 students are repeaters.

Students can call the helpline numbers to clear their doubts, number is 080 - 23310075 / 76.

Commissioner for Public Instruction Mohammad Mohsin said, "This would be the last year the traditional exam system was followed. From next year, we will switch to the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system."

KSEEB Director, A Devprakash said, "The modalities of the CCE system were still being worked out by the board. However, he said that those who did not clear the examination this year would be given a few more chances to clear the examination."
