The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to hire potential teachers in 2022. The state's Basic Education Department is ready for bulk recruitment to fill vacant positions of teachers. From April 2017 till 2021, the Secretary of the Basic Education Council has requested for information from all the Basic Education Officers on candidates who were selected in the entrance tests.

According to the Amar Ujala report, the Uttar Pradesh government intends to hire more than 70,000 teachers. This covers the 51,000 positions that have been vacant for a long time, as well as additional 22,000 positions for which 68500 teachers may be hired.
Earlier, the UP Basic Education Department had informed the court about the vacancies. According to the court's order, even though many out of 68500 available positions are filled, more than 70,000 new teachers would be hired for the schools.
After the Secretary of the Basic Education Council enquired about the appointments made from April 2017 onwards, many people believe that the government is planning a large number of new hirings. The secretary's order requests for information in both hard copy and soft copy form.
The Basic Education Council has already unveiled a counselling initiative to fill over 69,000 vacant teaching positions. The council will publish the allocation by district list, and the selected candidates will be granted appointment letters on June 28 and 29, this year.
