60% increase in aspirants from India for GRE exam

The number of aspirants appearing for the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) has been increased. More than 60% of aspirants in 2014 has been applied for GRE in 2014.

 

The number of students from Chine aspiring for GRE has gone down by 7%. In overall registered candidate for GRE, India stands alone at 15%. [Did you know the favourite snack of GRE aspirants in India?]

The majority of the students aspiring from Indian are male candidates and age group is between 18 to 22 years. All these candidates are aspiring for studies in abroad universities to pursue master degree courses.

60% increase in aspirants from India for GRE exam

Several B-schools in India will accept the scores of GRE. The date of the candidate's list was released by the Educational Testing Services (ETS), which conducts the exam.

"The numbers indicate that the individuals pursuing graduate education through GRE is diverse and growing," said David Payne, vice-president and COO of Global Education (ETS). [Indian students put 1-4 hours a week for GRE preparation]

The major disciplines chosen by the candidates are engineering by 31,085 candidates, physical science by 24,323 candidates, business by 3,518 candidates and life sciences by 3,075 candidates. Around 9,459 students have not decided to choose any one of the field.
