Two day National Conference on Biotechnology at Amity University

A two day National Conference on 'Recent Advances in Biotechnology and Bionanotechnology was organised by Amity University Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on 29th and 30th October. It attracted eminent scientists, scholars and researchers from across the premier institutes of India.

The first day of the conference was headed by the Chief Guest Dr. AK Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agriculture University, Gwalior. In the inaugural ceremony, Lt Gen VK Sharma explained the vital role of Biotechnology and Bionanotechnology in everyday life. He stressed upon the need for active research in both these areas.

The Chief Guest of the event says "Biotechnology and Bionanotechnology are impacting food technology, healthcare and environment issues."
Dr. AK Singh also outlined the scope of research in Biotechnology and Bionanotechnology. The Conference saw 14 sessions, including including those of invited speakers and oral presentations and poster presentations by delegates. All these sessions were chaired by eminent scientists from all over the country.

47 delegates, including BHU (Banaras Hindu University), DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), Jiwaji University (Gwalior) and other Amity campuses presented their research papers. The conference also received 50 entries of poster presentations.
