Bharathidasan Univ hosts Seminar on Human Rights: Dynamics Dialectics

The Bharathidasan University will be hosting its 2-day National Seminar for the year 2013 in the month of December. The seminar is sponsored by the UGC- Union Public Service Commission, and organised by the Centre of Women's Studies, Bharathidasan University.

The main objective of this department is to promote gender equality at all spheres of society through the activities of Teaching, Research, Training, Extension, Documentation, Publication, Dissemination and Teansmission, Seminars/Workshops, Advocacy, Counselling and Consultancy, Networking and Co-ordination.

The Centre has been involved in informulating theories on the basic of the Research studies and Field Work experiences.

About the Seminar

This seminar is completely based on how every human being living in any part of the world is entitled to human rights by virtue of having been born as a human being. Human Rights constitute a genus to which humanitarian law is a species.

However, the former relates to the basic rights of all human being everywhere, at all times, and the latter relates to the rights of particular categories of human beings, such as the sick, the wounded, prisoners of wars during armed conflicts and hostility.

Based on the above scenario, this two-day seminar proposes to address the following objectives: To have discussions and deliberations among the academics and public on the present topics. To scrutinise and examine the social conditions and suitability of existing legal framework and suggest the modifications based on the need. To chalk out a workable plan of action for the various enforcement agencies for better realisation of human rights. To encourage research in upcoming issues of human rights and challenges.

Call for Papers:

Original, thoughtful, comprehensive and unpublished Papers on the above themes and sub themes are invited from academicians, researchers, research organisations, industries, MNC's and Government officials, Professionals Bodies, NGO's, Research Scholars and Students.

Paper presenters must submit both hard and soft copies of the abstract not exceeding 300 words and the full paper not exceeding 8pages with not more than two authors, typed in A4 with Times New Roman 12 font size may be sent to the Seminar Organising Secretary. The name of the Authors must be clearly typed below the title of the paper on the front page with address. The Appendices, notes and references, must be given in scientific format at the end of the text.

Submission of papers by e-mail is must.

Registration Fees:

• For Academicians / Industrialists / Practioners / Pleaders / NGO's-Rs 750/- Ph.D /M.Phil Scholars: Rs.500/-
• P.G Students: Rs: 250/-
• Co-author(s) has / have to pay registration fees separately.

Demand Draft drawn in favour of "The Organising Secretary, NSHRD-2013", Payable at Tiruchirappalli.

Accommodation may be arranged on request. The fees once paid will not be refunded or adjusted.

Publication:

The selected papers will be published in an International Journal with ISSN. The remaining papers will be published in a book with ISBN. The papers should be original and prepared in accordance with guidelines of APA and considered to be of academic value by the panel of reviewers.

• Deadline for Abstract Submission : 25.11.2013
• Last date for Submission of Full paper along with Demand Draft : 05.12.2013
• The Seminar is held on 10th and 11th of December, 2013.

Bharathidasan University, Khajamalai Campus is located near the Govt. Law College and Anna Stadium Truchirappalli. It is located 3km away from Tiruchirappalli Bus Stand and Railway Station and Airport. The city is well connected by road, rail and air. It is a centrally located city of Tamil Nadu, which is surrounded by many places of tourist interest.
