HYDERABAD, November 12, 2013: Art Directors in the film is a key element in a finished film. They are architects and figment of your imagination in a movie scene, Bollywood film art director Vinod Guruji told film institute students in Hyderabad.
He said, art director stands between the screenplay and the director of the film. From the ‘amphitheatre' Chinese restaurant in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa to the diamond heist in Dhoom 2, Vinod Guruji has been creating stunning sets for Indian cinema for almost 20 years.
The acclaimed Art Director is currently coaching aspiring film school students at Annapurna International School of Film and Media (AISFM) on the role of art direction and how it contributes to the success of a finished film. The art director who has created set designs for more than 10,000 ads and
Innumerable films, said, "Set design helps in the narration of the story and is a key contributor to the development of a character in a scene. Even before the character talks, it is the walls behind him that reflects the personality of the character. The sets help in translating a script into visual language in the films. " Vinod Guruji has worked closely with such greats of Indian cinema as Sudhendu Roy, Amol Palekar, Prahlad Kakkar, Shyam Benegal and Kunadan Shah.
