How is JEE Main 2014 merit or rank list prepared?

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2014 exam will be held on 6th April. Applications for the exam will be available from 15 Nov 2013.

JEE Apex board will conduct the JEE Main exam for the year 2014, across the country.

JEE Main 2014 is the qualifying entrance exam for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions and State Funded Technical Institutions across India.

The admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions under several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the JEE (Main).

How is JEE Main 2014 merit or rank list prepared?

JEE apex board has announced the JEE Main 2014 exam time table and pattern.

For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Board's marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE (Main) exam score.

The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalisation.

The JEE (Main) will also be the eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ ISM Dhanbad.
