Conference to modernise madrassa education

Guwahati city is all set to conduct Assam Islamic Conference (AIC)on the coming Friday. The conference will focus on modernising the teachings of madrassa (relegious school) and maktabs (primary school) in the state, with the help of the government.

 

The conference will have a unique theme of 'Knowledge for deliverance', and it will be organised by Muslim Organisation of India (MOI).

Madrassa education to get modernised

The Chief Minister of the state Tarun Gogoi has already given a green signal to the conference and not only that, he will be attending the conference as the chief guest.

Moulana Nabeeul Haque Rezvi, chairman of the AIC says, "The general secretary of all India Jamiyyathul Ulama, Moulana Qamrul Ulama Sheik Aboobackar Ahmed, will attend the conference."

"Our prime thrust in the conference will be to find ways to modernise the education in madrassas and maktabs. We also want technical education to be a part of education at these institutions," Rezvi added. He further stated that the aim of the conference is development of the Muslims residing in backward areas of the state.
