Weekend Celebration "World Fest" Billabong High International School

Mumbai, 31st October, 2013: Expression is the act of transforming ideas into something or communicating an emotion through music, sculpture, painting, dance etc.

World Fest, a culminating activity on the theme "Countries of the World" was organised at Billabong High International School Bhopal.

Senior KG students presented various programmes that displayed diverse cultures and traditions followed across the globe. The children clad in colourful attires presented Spanish, Thai, and Halloween dances.


The dancers performed various harvest festivals like Bihu, Pongal and Lohri celebrated in India with great ardour and zeal. Beautiful dandiya presented by Sr. KG students was mesmerising and breathe taking.

Various art and craft activities like carnival mask making, dancing dragon making, earthen lamps decoration, Easter egg pendant decoration tattoo and Mehendi were organised.

Children enjoyed getting clicked in various festival attires in the photo shoot room. Games included hopscotch, Matki phod, hit at the target and Easter egg hunt. Scrumptious treats - various Indian and continental cuisine enthralled the foodies.

Children recited poems like "We are one world" and "Proud Indians". A quiz contest was held which dealt with questions related to the countries of the world. A team comprising of Sr.KG students won the contest.

"Festival Carnival" for Preschool kids was held at Billabong High. It was a unique approach to impart knowledge on global cultures. The carnival not only celebrated the customary festivals like Eid, Diwali, and Christmas but also felicitated some popular international festivals like Hina Matsuri - Chinese New Year celebration and Halloween.
