Himachal Pradesh University to computerise its examination system

Himachal Pradesh University will soon fully computerise its examination system becoming the first varsity in North India to do so.

"HPU shall be the first university in northern region to introduce Integrated Examination Management System (IEMS)," HPU Controller of Exam Narender Awasthi said.

The system will be made partially operational next year. Awasthi informed that it is a Cambridge University module system and with its implementation total examination system will become foolproof.

"The result could be declared within a couple of days after the completion of written papers, as the checking of answer sheets will also be done online," he said.

Dr Awasthi said that the system will be installed in the university and all the affiliated colleges on built operate and transfer (BOT ) system and handed over to HPU after seven years. He said that tendering for IEMS, is at its final stage.
