DTE Goa, Official said, "The prospectus will be available from March 2014 and application forms will be accepted from April 2014, at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao and the DTE office in porvorim."

In 2013, Goa Medical colleges had accepted the NEET UG exam scores for admission to Medical courses. After NEET exam has quashed from Supreme Court, DTE has decided to go with GCET.

"With NEET no more the single entry to medicine and dentistry courses, it does not make much sense for Goa to hold multiple processes for admissions to different professional courses, so we have decided to go with the admission system that was applicable in 2012, which is through GCET. The state may only consider changing the admission system if NEET is made the single entrance exam to medical and dentistry colleges again by the Supreme Court. As of now we are going with GCET," a DTE official said.

More than 3,500 students will appear for GCET 2014 exam.

GCET is an objective multiple choice type exam. GCET is based on syllabus prescribed by Goa board of secondary and higher secondary education Class XII syllabus for physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology and computer science.
