Presidency University student union elections through debate

Candidates contesting four key posts in the students body election in the prestigious Presidency University here, will have to participate in a debate to prove themselves.

Those filing nominations for the post of president, vice-president, general secretary and assistant secretary of the students body will have to participate in a debate on a platform so that the students will be able to judge them, university Vice-Chancellor Malabika Sarkar said.

"They have to prove themselves before the students," she said.

The university had witnessed vandalism by miscreants who broke into the campus and ransacked the historic Baker Laboratory and the Physics department leading to panic among students in April.
