Emirati families to run school canteens
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has launched an initiative tasking Emirati families to run school canteens across the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The initiative was launched under the aegis of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also chairman of the Khalifa Foundation.

Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, who is deputy chairman of the Khalifa Foundation, said the foundation started to implement the initiative in the beginning of this academic year. He noted that 80 Emirati families were asked to manage 40 school canteens nationwide in the first phase of the project.

It will cover all schools across the UAE in the next phase. He added that the healthy food provided by the canteens in cooperation with the education ministry, comes in line with the interest of the foundation to provide all school requirements and ensure attractive school environment.

Al Za'abi said the foundation would ensure that Emirati families comply with the conditions to provide healthy food that meets the requirements of the education ministry.
