Non-teaching staffs of Bangalore University held 2-hrs strike over UGC

BU Non-teaching staffs held 2-hrs strike
All non-teaching staffs of Bangalore University set out for a strike on Wednesday. They demanded UGC pay scales to be as applicable for teaching staffs.

It was a two-hour strike, where all non-teaching staffs participated in order to seek changes in pay scales.

The strike was held at the All-Indian University Non-Teaching Confederation in front of the administrative block at Jnanabharathi campus.

Mahalingaiah, member of the Federation National Executive Council said, ""At present, the Karnataka pay scales are applicable for us, but we want UGC ones. Apart from that, we have sought representation in the syndicate and academic council."

"If our demands aren't met, we will go on mass casual leave on October 3", he added.
