CBSE to conduct CTET 2014 on 16 Feb
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, is set to conduct Central Teachers Eligibility Entrance Test (CTET) for the session 2014 on 16 February.

CTET entrance test is conducted for appointment of teachers for class 1 to 8 in CBSE affiliated schools across the country.

The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh,Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman &Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveliand NCT of Delhi.

CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.

Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.

CTET is the qualifying test for appointment of teachers across India.

CBSE had conducted the CTET July 2013 exam on 28 July. The results were declared on 3rd Sept. Only 11% candidates has qualified in the exam out of 9 lakh candidates registered for the exam.
