It all began with the students of RV College of Engineering, striking the classes on September 10 against the dress code imposed by the authorities of the college. As per the new rule on dress code, the students had to wear only formal dress along with shoes or formal footwear.
The girls have been asked to wear only chudidars, salwars, kameez with sleeves or trousers and shirts while boys have to wear only formal shirts and trousers.
The students have been warned that t-shirts, jeans, tight fittings, transparent clothes are not allowed and moreover displaying of 'offensive' and 'obscene' slogans on clothing are prohibited. Hawaii chappals have not been allowed. The students also need to display identity cards inside the campus.
