University of Calcutta offers Ph.D in Sociology admission 2014

Department of Sociology, University of Calcutta, Kolkata invites application forms for admission to Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Sociology course through an entrance examination commencing in 2014.

Candidates who do not have NET/SET or M.Phil have to sit for the written test. Such candidates are advised to consult the PG syllabus of the Department of Sociology.

Eligibility:
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with 55% of marks from a UGC recognised university.

Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be selected based on entrance test score and interview conducted by the university.

• The application form can be downloaded from the official website of Calcutta University.
• Application can also be obtained from the university sales counter by paying Rs 100/- in cash.

Important Dates:

• Last date for the submission of application form is 25 Sept 2013.
• Entrance Test will be held on 30 Sept 2013.
• Results of entrance test on 7 Oct 2013.
