Regulatory Authority to streamline functioning of varsities

Punjab Govt begins Regulatory Authority
To streamline the functioning of various universities in the state, the Punjab government would soon set up a Regulatory Authority.

An announcement to this effect was made by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, while presiding over the third annual foundation day function of the Gurun Kashi University here.

Badal said that the sole aim of the government was to impart quality education to children as only healthy educational system could ensure better future for our youth as well as that of the country.

Reiterating the commitment of the state government, he said that all-out efforts have been made to impart quality education to the students at all levels in the state in general and rural sectors in particular.

The government had established 9 new universities, Badal added. Bathinda would become an educational hub in near future with the setting up of Central University there.

Regarding the promotion of skill development activities, Badal said that in future it would be made mandatory to establish a Skill Development School for all new universities to be established in the state.
