Liberia-India varsities sign on research
The state-run University of Liberia (UL) and India's O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for research collaboration and student exchange, an official statement said Monday.

UL president Emmett Dennis and vice chancellor of the JGU C. Raj Kumar signed the document for their respective institutions, Xinhua reported.

The MoU covers student exchange, faculty collaboration and visits, research, joint publication and summer internships. Under the exchange programme, every year five students from the JGU will be sent to pursue master programmes at the UL and the Liberian varsity will send same number of students to the JGU.

It provides for a regular "India-Liberia research platform" of the joint research initiative that encompasses partner schools or departments across the various disciplines, the statement said. The MoU follows a state visit by Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
