Guides from Bolton have visited India to help girls in their education. They travelled with global children's charity plan UK to New Delhi and Rajasthan on a mission to help the girl's rights at work.
Bijal Rama, Lauren Hitchen, Katie Hetherington, Rachel and Sharon Knowles were selected by the charity due to their commitment towards equality.
Bijal Rama, a Geography graduate and guide leader said, "I really liked meeting people from all levels of the community, such as girls and boys, but also their parents and families, and hearing about the importance of education for them."
Hetherington said "My favourite part of the trip was visiting a girls' residential education camp. I was amazed by their dreams and the determination they have to achieve them. Because of their education, they had the confidence that they would be successful."
They were impressed about the stories of girls who had fought hard for their rights and education. These women visited India after writing to the charity about their passion for girl's education.
