To check ragging at various educational institutes across Gautam Buddh Nagar, the district administration today directed colleges to identify students indulging in such activities and file complaint against them.
In a letter addressed to the management of various institutes, district magistrate Kumar Ravikant Singh has asked colleges not to tolerate any kind of ragging and take strict action against students found guilty.
In a warning to students, he said those found guilty will get two years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on them, besides being rusticated from their college.
There are more than 70 engineering and management colleges in the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida in which over two lakh students are studying.
