Online admission is mandatory in Haryana
The Haryana government has made online admission mandatory from the next academic session for students seeking admission in government colleges.

A senior education department officer said admission-seekers will be informed about the status of their admission through SMS and e-mail alerts, and a public grievance cell has been put in place for helping the students.

Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department, S S Prasad, further said provision for generation of online merit and admission lists has been made.

Prasad was presiding over a meeting of principals of government colleges affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak.

He said information regarding various scholarships, schemes, courses and other facilities has already been made available online.

Students seeking financial aid can now apply online.

Teachers have been asked to maintain record of the teaching work taken up in their colleges, he said.

The number of seats in commerce and science streams has been increased in some colleges, whereas many new courses have been sanctioned for private colleges receiving government grant, Prasad said.
