IIM-I invites B-schools to conduct CAT
Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore invites B-schools to conduct Common Admission Test (CAT) for the year 2014.

The five-year contract of Prometrics - test development and delivery providers - that is conducting online CAT is about to end after CAT 2013.

CAT for the year 2013 is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore for admissions to Management programmes for the year 2013-14.

The decision was taken in a meeting held between all the IIM Directors on Saturday, Feb 02, 2013.

The CAT is an all India entrance test for admission to the IIM's and other reputed institutions across the country. The new entries in 2011 included six IIT's, Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.

"We are looking for prospective service providers who can conduct CAT for IIMs in a computerized and standardized multi-test mode. The work of the service provider would be to undertake tasks including application process, test construction, test delivery, result processing and score reporting using appropriate technology," said CAT 2013 convener Rohit Kapoor.

Around 2.25 lakh candidates will take the CAT exam every year.

Last date for receipt of applications from interested service providers is August 26.

"We have informed the authorities of prometrics about the update. Though their term is ending, Prometrics can also apply again for their candidature," said Kapoor.

In 2009, the company was awarded the work for 40 million dollar contract by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) to computerize the prestigious CAT exam.
