IGNOU's programme for disabled persons
The National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation (NHFDC) of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has formulated various loan schemes for education and vocational establishment of students/persons with disabilities.

To create awareness in this regard among the students, parents and other community members, National Centre for Disability Studies (NCDS) of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has planned Workshop on 31.7.2013 at 11.A.M at Convention Centre, IGNOU.

It will be addressed by authorities of NHFDC regarding their loan schemes and procedure of availing this facility.

The awareness workshop is expected to be attended by students studying in IGNOU, with its various regional centres and study centres along with the IGNOU academic and non academic staff.

The information may be further disseminated to field level.

National Centre for Disability Studies IGNOU is working towards care and cause for rehabilitation, and mainstreaming of persons with disabilities.

The educational and vocational are the two main components of rehabilitation and mainstreaming. So, this will enable the persons with disabilities to be productive members of the society.

NCDS is committed to improve its efforts towards generating awareness about the various financial schemes of Government of India, which is made available to meet the mainstreaming need of persons with disabilities.
