Bomb cast on premises of an educational institute in Imphal

A powerful bomb was cast at the premises of an educational institute in Imphal, but it failed to explode, said the officials here on Wednesday.

They were unidentified militants who are included in this act. The sources revealed that, the militants had hurled the grenade at the complex of Little Mastern English School in interior Samurou village at around 9:30 PM on Tuesday.

The bomb squads along with the Police officials had defused the grenade on Wednesday. Police officials said that, this was the second time the militants had hurled the grenade at the school. The first attempt was made in May, 2013.

After the first incident had taken place, the school authorities had appealed the villagers not to disturb the academic atmosphere in the school complex.

The police men are on track. According to the sources, police posts have been frequently put on alert in valley districts of Imphal east, west, Bishenpur and Thoubal.

Moreover, police posts have also been ordered to set up patrolling and checking of passer-by to intercept the movement in Imphal.
