Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programme (OPENNET-III).
Admission will be carried through an Entrance Examination, conducted by IGNOU on Sunday, 8th September 2013 at all India level.
Eligibility for OPENNET-III:
- Candidates must have completed 10+2 with three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and with minimum two years experience in the profession.
- For male nurses or nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme, should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration, as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery.
Or
- 10th class matriculation or its equivalent with three years diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), with the minimum of five years experience in the profession.
- For male nurses or nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration, as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery.
The duration of the programme is three years and medium of instruction is English.
How to apply:
- The B.Sc Nursing form can be downloaded from the website. However, the prospectus will be available in the Regional Centre.
- Student Handbook and Prospectus for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme -2014, can be obtained from the Registrar (SRD), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068.
- Prospectus can also be obtained from all the Regional Centres of IGNOU, by sending a sum of Rs. 1050/- through a Demand Draft/IPO, in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi/ city of Regional Centre.
- Prospectus is also available at Regional Centre by paying Rs. 1000/- in cash at the respective sale counters.
Last date for receipt of request for a prospectus by post is 31st July 2013.
Application form and Prospectus can also be downloaded from the website (www.ignou.ac.in), and sent along with a DD/IPO for Rs. 1050/-, in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi.
Last date for filled in form should be submitted at the respective Regional Centre on or before 8th August 2013.
