The main aim of this program is developing young minds, encouraging students to explore by thinking with creative and analytical mind. On the whole, it is about bringing an all-round development of a child/student.
Educational psychologist Chaula Patel said, "I have been following The Times of India Student Edition for the last several years. I think it is doing a commendable job in bringing about all-round development of a child. It gives exposure to students by giving them a chance to contribute to the newspaper. By publishing students' achievements at the inter-school level, it acts as a constructive catalyst in motivating children to excel."
Children require timely guidance and the student edition has been serving as one of the primary guiding means, Patel added.
The Times NIE programme also includes various events, like the 'Times NIE Colour Splash' which is an inter-school painting competition, 'Times NIE Quizomania', an inter-school quiz competition, 'Times NIE Spell Bee ', an inter-school spelling competition and 'Times NIE My Green Earth Science Project Competition', a competition to motivate students to develop eco-friendly science projects, among many others.
Times NIE organizes events for principals and teachers, like the Times NIE Principals Meet, Times NIE teachers day celebration and Guest Editor. Guest Editor initiative invites principals to edit the edition for a day. Times NIE Teacher's Day celebrations helps them share ideas and interact on a regular basis.
Parents find The Times of India Student Edition an asset for their children. They believe that reading the edition will help in bringing about their all-round development.
