AP gets 550 MBBS & 60 BDS new seats
Dental Council of India (DCI), New Delhi has granted 60 new BDS seats to Government Dental College at Afzalgunz in Hyderabad for the academic year 2013-14.

Medical Council of India (MCI) has already granted 550 MBBS additional seats to the state for this year.

A total of 1,890 BDS seats are available in 21 dental colleges across the state for admissions.

Around 6,050 MBBS seats are available for admissions in AP for this year. About 81,000 students qualified for Medical / Dental courses admissions across the state.

Government Dental College, Afzalgunz has a total of 100 BDS seats under govt quota.

Director of medical education (academic) K Venkatesh has said that only one of the three government dental colleges in the state applied for additional seats this year and received DCI's approval a couple of days ago.

The other two government dental colleges are in Kadapa (RIMS) and Vijayawada with 100 and 40 seats respectively.

The state government decided to allot 15% seats to NRI children's in 40% reserved management quota seats.

According to the sources, Engineering, Agriculture, Medical courses counseling commences likely from July 2nd week.

According to reports, meeting is going to be held at AFRC on admission process and to take final decision on fee in private engineering and other professional courses.

After discussions, Admissions committee will send the proposals to the state government to fix the fee structure for the professional courses for the academic year 2013-14.

The detailed notification will be issued before the commencement of the counseling session.

This year, a total of 2,76,995 students appeared EAMCET 2013 exam. Around 2,01,308 students qualified for engineering and 88,778 students in Medical.

This year 14 new counseling centres had been added for counseling process, by taking the total number to 67 centres.

Candidates are advised to take all the necessary original documents for counseling and it needs to be attested with the signature of the government officials.

Around 3 lakh seats are available in 720 engineering colleges provided in all over AP. Only 2,90,015 candidates appeared for EAMCET 2013 exam.
