AP High Court issued notice on JEE
Andhra Pradesh High court had issued notices to Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Board joint director and Human Resource Department (HRD) on challenging the admissions procedure for the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Centrally funded institutions.

On a petition challenging the procedure notified by authorities for admission into engineering courses in NITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions.

 

While dealing with the plea by Ch. Rahul Anand and Yash Mehrotra of the city, Justice Ramesh Ranganathan made it clear that all the admissions that were made and are being made will be subject to the final outcome of the petition.

Commenting on the issued in court, Gandra Mohan Rao said, "JEE is the main gateway to obtain admissions in NITS and CFTIs and the authorities have introduced a system called normalisation process to arrive at a common assessment level after comparing the intermediate marks awarded by as many 42 intermediate boards all over the country situated in various states."

Counsel said the new procedure would be detrimental to the prospects of students who studied in state syllabus and beneficial to CBSE students.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi had conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2013 for engineering programmes admissions across the country.

JEE Main 2013 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/other Qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main.
