16Lakh Students Gets Technical Education
Chandigarh, Jun 24 (PTI): Technical education will be provided to 16 lakh students in Haryana, especially in backward areas like Mewat, in the next five years.

The state government will spend about Rs 207 crore for providing technical education to the students, R P Chander, Principal Secretary, Industrial Training Department, said here today.

 

Till now, technical education is being provided to students in 78 Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) at various places in the state, he said.

The state government is also mulling to spend Rs 100 crore on setting up eight new ITIs and expansion of four ITIs, he added.

"The development of skilled human capital is among the top priorities of the state government for which department is inspiring students towards training, incentives and self employment and it has yielded positive results," he said.

Chander further said that all government and non-government ITIs have a capacity to provide technical education to about 52,000 students whereas with the setting up of these eight new ITIs, this capacity would be reach upto 60,000.
