School of Inspired Leadership Offers Course in Social Service

SOIL Offers Social Service Course
In order to engage students in social development and community service, a premium business school here announced a course for their new batch of 2013-14.

The social innovation programme by School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL) requires a student to dedicate one day of each week to social causes. With the help of 25 NGOs attached with SOIL, students can participate in different causes.

The course was inaugurated by former IPS officer-turned-activist Kiran Bedi, whose NGO Navjyoti India Foundation is part of the consortium.

"When you are working with NGOs you are seeing, feeling, believing. All your five senses are into it. You taste, feel the air, sense the people's culture. This is something which should start at the school level," she said.

Founder and CEO of SOIL Anil Sachdev said that the business school aims to instill a sense of responsibility in the students and help them in finding a solution to the problems that plague the society.

"Youth is aware of the social conditions, however, they do often require a direction to steer their efforts towards effective development. We aim to bring a change in the community."

The programs raise performance of organizations by incorporating a host of techniques including but not limited to 360 degree assessment tools, latest research and hi-tech business simulations. To facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing, students are placed into study groups of four to five individuals with a mix of management styles and skill-sets, and from different industries. The duration of an Open enrolment program ranges from 1 day to 5 days. Open Enrolment programs are offered on an ongoing basis to allow you to gain valuable knowledge without interrupting your careers.

The curriculum is designed by our Industry Consortium to quickly and thoroughly prepare participants for a career in a global business environment. The aim is reflected in the compressed time frame, accelerated learning focused on global and contemporary business themes and challenges. The curriculum prepares one to lead by offering a combination of rigorous fundamentals, practical experience, and the freedom to explore.

The goal is to provide an educational experience that is not just exceptional but transformational. The faculty at SOIL is of global repute and has been carefully selected to combine the world of practice, academia and consulting. They give students valuable insights that help them to explore new paradigms in learning and innovation.
