As many as 2100 candidates appeared to the exam on Monday, 17th June 2013. The candidates arrived from different parts of the Country for taking up the combined entrance test.
The PU CET 2013 was held in behalf of 38 PG Courses which began on 15th June and ended today, i.e. 18th June.
The PU Controller of Examination Dr Parvinder Singh said "Monday's entrance was conducted for courses like MA (English), MTech (Instrumentation), MPEd, Msc (Biochemistry) (Hons School), MSc (Mathematics) (Hons school), MA (Journalism and Mass Communication), ME (Instrumentation and Control), MSc (Environment Science), Microbial Biotechnology, MSc (Industrial Chemistry), BPEd, MCom (Hons), and Masters in Public Health."
The test for other subjects like Biotechnology, Nanosciences, Bioinformatics and others will be held today (June 18).
PU has received over 8,700 BCom applications. Over 2,500 students have submitted their applications, seeking admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (B Com) course in the city-based colleges against 1,400 seats, in Panjab University. Moreover, over 6,200 students also applied online for the same course.
Admission to this course is centralized and is being coordinated by the Panjab University (PU). There is still one week left for the submission of forms.
The PU authorities have decided to continue with the centralized online admission process for city-based colleges only while affiliated institutes located in the two cities of Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana had been asked to conduct the process themselves this year.
