TNEA is said to be the single window counselling system that ensures a fair and transparent admission process. TNEA assured the aspirants as well as their parents on how to attend the counselling which is to be held at PSG College of Technology, on a get together held on Sunday. The session was held by the Coimbatore Chapter of the Computer Society of India.
P. Narayanasamy, Additional Controller of Examinations, University Departments, Anna University, and former TNEA Secretary said "The Anna University website. Also provided choice of college and course based on last year's aggregate marks for the easy reference of students."
"However, the day of counselling is not the time to do all this. A list of colleges and courses should be short-listed before counselling depending on the candidate's aggregate and reservation norms. Once the counselling begins, constant updates will be available on the website and also on large screens at the counselling venue. If the candidate is prepared with enough choices, he will not be perturbed if seats are already filled in two or three colleges of his choice," he added.
R. Nadarajan, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences of PSG College of Technology, who presided over the event, urged students and parents to be clear about their choices. He asked the parents to give freedom to their wards about the choice of college and course based on their interest and passion.
Senior faculty from core engineering disciplines of mechanical, electronics and communication, civil, and electrical were present to clear the doubts of the students. The general consensus of these experts was that the student could compromise on the course if he got the choice of a good college in the counselling.
Also, the aspirants were distributed a free booklet that listed out the counselling process in steps and a check list of the documents that will be verified at the venue.
