37k Students passed GITAM Admission Test
Around 37,000 students had cleared the GITAM University Admission Test (GAT-2013) for engineering and pharmacy courses out of the over 58,000 students from 22 states that had appeared for the test.

GITAM University had conducted GITAM Admission Test (GAT 2013), a computer based online test in 32 centres across the country from April 17 to May 8.

GAT 2013 conducted for admission to UG & PG Technology & Pharmacy Programs in GITAM University at its Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru Campuses commencing in the session 2013-14.

Around 65,000 aspirants registered for GAT 2013 entrance test.

Gitam University vice-chancellor Professor G Subhramanyam said that the list of rank holders had been uploaded on the Gitam University website www.gitam.edu and eligible candidates had also been informed about their eligibility via SMS.

The Gitam VC said, admissions into the BTech, B Pharmacy, M Tech and M Pharmacy programmes would be based entirely on the GAT-2013 ranks. He also pointed out that the first rank holders of all central and state board examinations, equivalent to Plus-2, would be given admission into the programme of their choice at any of the three campuses at Vizag, Hyderabad and Bangalore without having to appear for GAT-13.

The Gitam VC said the varsity was making all efforts to enhance the teaching and research capabilities of the deemed university through academic tie-ups like those with Canadian Windsor University, US-based University of Texas, Singapore based NSU.

The Eligible rank holders qualified in GAT - 2013 are required to attend Online Counseling with Call Letter by downloading from university website at any of the following five centres for admission to B.Tech. / B.Arch. / 5 Year Integrated Dual Degree (B.Tech. + M.Tech.) / B.Pharmacy and three centres for admissions to M.Tech. programmes for the academic year 2013-14.

GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing for GAT (PGT) 2013, but they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend for counseling as per the schedule. They are also eligible for fellowship / stipend as per rules, if admitted.

All the candidates who attend counseling have to pay an amount of Rs. 800/- as Counseling Fee (Non Refundable) at the reception counter of the counseling centre irrespective of their selection for admission. The candidates can attend subsequent counseling for entry into the counseling centre for the same fee on production of fee receipt.
