KEA to conduct Diploma CET 2013 from June

Karnataka Government decided to conduct the Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) like every year for the students who seeking lateral entry to engineering courses in the colleges of the state.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), will conduct the DCET 2013 from June.

The Diploma CET exam is conducted for admission to 2nd Year / 3rd Semester Engineering Courses and for First Year / 1st Semester Architecture course under Lateral Entry Scheme, for both Day and Evening Engineering Colleges for the year 2013-13 in the State of Karnataka.

The Admission for the above courses will be provided based on the counseling conducted by KEA.

Some of the students and parents questioned to KEA that, they need to conduct the D-CET by citing the All India Council for Technical Education Approval, which does not mention an entrance test.

Principal Secretary, Department of Higher Education Rajneesh Goel said, "The AICTE does not mention that CET cannot be conducted for students seeking lateral entry. The procedure for this will be the same as last year,"
