JEE Main 2013 toppers

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2013 results declared on May 07, 2013. The merit list of the candidates will be announced by the CBSE board shortly.

Only 1.5 lakh eligible candidates have to appear in JEE Advanced 2013 test for admission to 15 IITs across the country.

The JEE (Main) was held in 2,015 centres across 113 cities in India in pen-and-paper mode and at 278, centres in 32 cities in the online mode. Over a 13 lakh stidents appeared the JEE exam.

Student from Ranchi, Anagh Prasad and M. Vishwa Virinchi from Hyderabad topped the JEE Main by scoring 345 out of 360 marks.

Anagh's father, Ambresh Prasad, a doctor in Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), proudly confirmed his son's scores and added that the 18-year-old was a hard working boy since childhood and never wasted his time anywhere.

Manish Anand, chemistry teacher from FIITJEE coaching centre, said of the 760 students who appeared for the IIT-JEE exam, 310 have qualified for the JEE Advanced examination of IIT to be held on June 2.

Owais Khan Mohammed, student from Hyderabad topped second by scoring 341 out of 360 marks.

In Delhi, Kumar Siddharth scored the highest (335/360), followed by Kartikeya Gupta (325/360).

Chandra Maloo, a student from Nagpur scored 335 marks in JEE.

In all, eight students from the Chandigarh scored above 300 marks in the JEE Main 2013. Abhijit Lavania of Chandigarh got 331 marks out of a total of 360 marks, highest in the Tricity. Akshit Rehan and Shirsti Singla scored 315. Lakshay Goel and Arnav Kansal scored 310 marks.
