CBSE had conducted Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main offline exam on April 07, 2013. JEE Main Online exam was held between April 09 to 25, 2013 in 26 cities across the country.
Around 14 lakh candidates registered for first JEE Main 2013 in both online and offline exam.
Top 1.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main in all categories are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced exam, scheduled to be held on June 02, 2013.
JEE Advanced online registration begins from May 08, 2013 conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The examination application fee for GE and OBC male candidates is Rs. 1,800. The fee for SC, ST, and Physically Disabled male candidates are Rs. 900. There is no application fee for female candidates of all categories.
The original admit card for the JEE Advanced - 2013 will be issued to the candidates in the respective examination centre on the day of the JEE Advanced - 2013 after verifying their candidature. The original admit card should be preserved carefully till the admission process through JEE Advanced - 2013 is complete.
RN Sengupta vice chairman IIT-JEE-Kanpur zone informed that from this year, admission to the undergraduate programmes at all IITs and ISM, Dhanbad, will be through the JEE Advanced- 2013.
He said the eligibility of the student to appear in JEE Advanced-2013 will be decided by the candidates' score in the JEE Main-2013, which will be known by May 7.

Only the top 1,50,000 candidates (including all categories) who qualify in Paper - I of JEE Main-2013 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced - 2013. Those figuring in the merit list will further be given an opportunity to seek admission in premier IITs, in the country. There are a total of 10,000 seats in the IITs.
