1.2 lakh students from Andhra Pradesh eligible for IIT Admissions

Around 1.2 lakh students from Andhra Pradesh are eligible for Indian Institutes of Technology admissions for the academic year 2013.

Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), AP announced the Inter Second Year results 2013 on April 26. In which, 1.2 lakh students placed top 20 percentile in JEE Main.

All these 1.2 lakh students have to appear for JEE Advanced test for admissions to IITs across India.

JEE Advanced registration begin form May 08, 2013. Candidates have to register online.

According to the BIE statistics, general candidates is 476 marks out of 530, for OBC candidates 468, for SCs 447 and for STs 452. In the general category 75,890 candidates gain-ed eligibility while the number is 36,626 among OBCs, 8,452 among SCs and 3,111 among ST candidates.

Meanwhile, the BIE officials have clarified that the results will be sent to the CBSE only after taking into account the marks obtained in recounting and re-verification. Officials also clarified that first year students can also appear for improvement and only the final score will be considered for calculating the top 20 percentile figure next year.
