There shall be two papers in the OTET. Paper I will be for a candidate who intends to be a teacher for class I to V. Paper II will be for a candidate who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
A candidate who intends to be a teacher either for classes I to V or for classes VI to VIII will have to appear in both papers (paper I and Paper II).
- Paper I : To become teachers for classes I-V in Orissa primary school.
- Paper II : To become teachers for classes between VI and VIII in Orissa upper primary school.
- Paper I and II: For those candidates who interested in teaching from Class I to VIII. They can appear for both the papers and have to get qualifying marks to be considered for all the classes.

Note:
- All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions, each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Questions will be set to assess candidate's ability to analyze, interpret and apply the subject matter.
- There will be no negative marking.
Orissa TET Qualification Marks-
- More than 5 lakhs students of Orissa are waiting for the results, An ORISSA TET candidate who scores 60% or more in OTET exam 2013 the exam will be considered as ORISSA TET pass.
- Orissa Govt May consider giving concessions to persons belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently able persons, etc., in
- A candidate who scores 60% or more in the TET examination will be considered as TET pass.
- Candidates belonging to SC, ST, SEBC/OBC, Physically Handicapped securing scores 50% may be considered as TET pass.
- The TET score will be given weight age in the recruitment process.
- Accordance with their extant reservation policy of Orissa Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET) 2013 ; OTET Should give weightage to the Orissa TET scores in the recruitment process; however, qualifying the ORISSA TET candidates would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
