SRM Entrance Exam On 20th April. About 1.5 Lakh Aspirants Take Part.

SRMEEE (SRM Engineering Entrance Exam) is being held by SRM University for admissions into Undergraduate Engineering Courses commencing in the session 2013-14. The Offline Exam is held on 20th April, 2013 and the Online (Computer based Exam) will be held on 20 and 21 April, 2013.

The University has received 2.23 Lakh applications from across the Nation. Around 1, 52, 518 aspirants are to appear in the entrance exam held in five sessions in 203 centres in 102 cities across India.

Majority of the applicants opt for B.Tech in 19 branches which includes Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Civil, IT, Electrical & Electronics, Biotechnology, Aerospace, Nanotechnology, Automobile, Electronics & Instrumentation, Biomedical, Chemical, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Software, Instrumentation & Control, Mechatronics, Information & Telecommunication.

Additionally, the aspirants also include those appearing for 33 specializations in M.Tech, MBA, MCA and Health Science programmes including BDS.

According to the sources, only 18% of the total candidates are girls. Below is the details on number of candidates from different states.

• Andhra Pradesh: 36.5%
• Tamil Nadu: 14.8%
• Uttar Pradesh: 9.4%
• New Delhi: 5.2%
• Rajasthan: 5.2%
• West Bengal: 4.1%
• Rest of the candidates are from 35 other states.

The University also received applications from Abroad. Around 5200 candidates from 39 countries under Foreign Nationals/ NRI category have applied for the SRMEEE.

The results of the exmaination is likely to be displayed on 30th April, 2013.
