The new change of move will make the students to rush to compare the answer sheets to ascertain marks. It would also raise multiple queries to the process of evaluation, promoting those marking the papers to be extra cautions in awarding and tabling the marks.
Around 13 lakh students appear board examination and due to the increase in the number of answer sheet copies, the process of evaluation lasts over a fortnight with each evaluator grading 40 answer scripts daily.
The SSC board examination for the year 2013 is going to held from March 22 to April 09.
G Ramesh, a Mathematics teacher which has been a part of evaluation system, said, "Mistakes might creep in while tallying thje overall marks or when marks entry process. Given the power cuts and stress to complete the scripts on time, human errors cannot be ruled out,"
"More often not only a minor differences of one or two marks can be detected on revaluation as each teacher follows the key to grade the answer sheets," he added.
"It is the first time that the answer sheets for all subjects will be available to candidates if they apply for revaluation by paying a fee of Rs 1,000/- per sheet. It will increase the transparency of awarding marks but any mistakes will reflect poorly on the board," said B Manmandha Reddy, Director of Government Examinations.
If any candidates lost their admit cards, SSC board provides an option to candidates can download the admit card from the official website of SSC Board.
Manmadha Reddy said, "The argument is that the students will not clear their dues and fees if they are allowed to download hall-tickets directly. Though we place the hall-tickets online every year a day or two day before the commencement of the examination,"
"As the SSC marks memo and certificates are sent to the schools directly the managements can always claim the dues during issuing certificates. The incident of an intermediate students committing suicide as he was denied hall-ticket is shocking and we would like to prevent such cases," added Reddy.
