India-Egypt Signs Five MoU's For IT Education

India and Egypt have come across a decision to work together in fields like IT, Space, Cyber Security Education. And as a prime start five MoU's were inked on Tuesday during the Visit of President Dr. Manmohan Singh to New Delhi.

MoU 1: Was held between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Government of India and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Arab Republic of Egypt for Co-operation and Communication Technology.

The Ministers of Communications and Information Technology, Kapil Sibal signed this MoU from the Indian side and Eng.Atef Helmy from the Egyptian side. This MoU is based on a number of core areas which would be the focus of cooperation. These include e-governance and e-education, IT and electronics hardware, sharing of experiences in the creation of Technology Parks and IT clusters, and strengthening the co-operation between ICT companies in the private sector etc.

MoU 2: was also signed between the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Government of India and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Arab Republic of Egypt an co-operation in the area of Cyber Security.

This MoU assists sharing of experts by exchanging information on all aspects of cyber security and supporting each other in taking appropriate measures in order to prevent cyber security incidents.

MoU 3: Was signed between the Government of the Republic of India and Arab Republic of Egypt for the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in IT (CEIT) in Egypt.

Here, this MoU is specially for the establishment of a Centre for Excellence in IT (CIET) in Al Azhar University, which marks an important step in actualizing the goals of technical and development co-operation between the two countries. Under this MoU, India will provide the human resources, as well as the hardware and software to set up a centre for the training of upto 500 students per year.

MoU 4: Was signed between National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Republic of India and Social Fund for Development, Arab Republic of Egypt on Co-operation in the field of Micro and Small Enterprises.

MoU 5: Signed between Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of State for Antiquities Affairs, Arab Republic of Egypt for cooperation in the fields of Protection, Preservation, Promotion and Management of Cultural Heritage.

It facilitates joint activities, sharing of information and exchange of expertise through conferences, workshops, joint projects etc. and cooperation in the field of protection of intellectual property rights and prevention of illicit traffic of antiquities.
