Though it seemed like most of them are still against following this rule, many of the city based schools have already started their admissions.

Despite, the risk that such admissions would be declared illegal alter, many city schools have admitted students under the 25% RTE quota. The government notification containing guidelines and scheduled for the implementation of the RTE Act was to be issued in November 2012.

Many schools have delayed their admissions waiting for the notification to be passed by the RTE. A few schools are yet in a confusion on how long to wait to start their admission procedure. Principal of Anjuman Islam Girls High schools said "How long to keep waiting for the Notification? Being an aided institution, the RTE quota is applicable to our Urdu school. Around 150 of the 240 students have secured admissions through this quota".

The sources revealed that, last year the education department had termed admission process that did not follow the official government time table as illegal. The schools accused of illegal RTE admissions have not yet received the RTE grants from the Government for those admissions.
