Well, here is an awesome opportunity for few candidates who wants to join BE without an Entrance test. Well, let me make sure, this opportunity is available for Science Graduates!!

Any candidate who is a Science Graduate with Mathematics as a subject in Class 12 can now join second-year Undergraduate Engineering course without an CET (Common Entrance Test). However, they are expected to clear engineering graphics or engineering drawing and engineering mechanics of the first year engineering syllabus along with the second-year subjects.

On Tuesday, the Minister of Higher Education CT Ravi announced that lateral entry into Engineering courses for Bsc holders will be made active from the upcoming academic year 2013-14 onwards. Any science graduate with 45% marks is eligible for lateral entry into a second year engineering courses.

This procedure was introduced by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) in the year 2011, and this system is yet to be implemented in state Karnataka which was earlier restricted to Diploma students.
