CUHP's 1st Convocation To Be Held On 28th February

The First Annual Convocation of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) Dharamsala shall be held on 28th February 2013.

Disclosing this at Dharamsala today the Registrar of CUHP, B R Dhiman said, " The Dalai Lama shall be the Chief Guest and will deliver the Convocation Address. Whereas Arun Maira, Member, Planning Commission, Government of India, and the Chancellor of the University shall preside over the Convocation."

115 Degrees and 6 Gold Medals shall be conferred/awarded to the candidates who have successfully completed their Programmes of Study in the year 2010-2012 as per rules. The Registrar said that on 1st March 2013 there will be a Cultural Programmes for the degree holders

The CUHP started its function in a temporary location on 20 January 2010. Due to the political bounces in Himachal the University yet to have its own land to built the administrative and faculty structures. The institution was initially announced by Sonia Gandhi for Dharamsala in 2007.
